There are a couple of heyday in the year.
In January, the plants are pruned. This is a time-consuming affair because proper pruning determines the quality of growth and harvest.
In June, July and Agust, the plants will have to be topped. Leave and bunch thinning will take place, so that the energy of the plant can be focussed on the remaining grapes.
Early October is harvest time! We have to pluck, de-stem, crush and press. Altogether several days of hard work.
We require a lot of hands for all of these activities. By organizing in groups, these days are a true feast with a fully catered lunch at the end of the afternoon. Of course some wine and snacks are included…
Besides its heydey it’s also the intention to organise regular meetings with the club of friends of the vineyard. A special festive dinner at Christmas is one of these meetings.
